Carpooling:

The congested drop-off and pick-up situation at Columbine was brought up by parents at the Sept. 19th PTO/PAWS meeting with additional concern that it will only get worse as the weather worsens.  In response, we'd like to offer this Connection Blog to help facilitate families finding each other in order to set up carpools.  Please click here to enter your Name, # of Children, and What Neighborhood (or cross streets) and then check back to connect with other families.

In brief, long term infrastructure changes will require analysis, time and funding.  Suggestions have involved stop lights vs signs, alternate entrances vs exits, traffic direction by the police, and altering start vs end times of the schools.  What you could do in the short term is to try to carpool, walk or bike.  Certainly, crosswalks need to be painted to make that option safe.   Read details of what has been sent to local officials by clicking here.
